[Balug-talk] make linux kernel patch

I am making a linux kernel patch, pretty much
following the "rules"
But noticed that the patch size of so big, so I did a
simple test -- patching kernel itself without any
changes as following( assuming the patch file size
should be 0 ), please advise if anything went wrong or
missing

*> get linux-xxx tar file, untar it --> files under
/linux
*> mv linux-xxx linux-xxx.orig
*> diff -urN linux-xxx.orig linux-xxx
>linux-changes.diff

the size of linux-changes.diff is a 130197077 bytes
file. When vi the file, all the GPL license, document
directory are showing up. What's wrong here ?
