My understanding regarding hardware support is that basic
functionality is almost always guaranteed and especially for
older hardware. The newer stuff takes a while to be supported
as the companies are often slow to release the technical details
to individuals even if they're associated with one of the
linux organizations. What I would look for is how close to
standard the various features, such as sound, video, scsi,
are. And in the case of extasia's board it looks like most
of the peripherals are in the VIA chip. If so that makes
it likely they are supported. So that's what I would use
as a clue.
'Course that's only one opinion and I'm interested in hearing
the others.
