There's a compatibility list of WINE applications, Google for it.  It
may address your questions.

I'm not sure how well supported ActiveX is under WINE, but my
understanding is that a lot of FPS games use this.

You're also generally best off installing the game under legacy MS
Windows, then accessing it through WINE.  While WINE allows you to run a
lot of apps, the installers frequently _not_ supported.  Bass ackwards
as that seems.
