[balug-talk] Another not a job posting! :-)

Yes, not a job posting! This is about the advantages of
placing/referencing information that one might later want to update
where one can update it!
Yes, ... had I originally placed the relevant information at:
http://www.rawbw.com/~mp/job_openings.html
(as it now is, and yes, it's updated and current), and just referenced that,
the references to it would remain more suitably current (as opposed to
the technique that was used in:
http://lists.balug.org/pipermail/balug-talk-balug.org/2007-April/003931.html
). E.g. by placing the information at the URL where I can update its
contents, if there are changes regarding status/details/information about
those two jobs, folks can just check that URL for relevant updates ... and
no need for me to mention updates/changes about those again on list(s).
This is also why, for example, placing information on wiki pages (rather
than referencing a chain of archived e-mails) can be quite useful (and
hopefully we get the BALUG web site and wiki stuff whipped back into
shape in the not-too-horribly-distant future ... myself and some other folks
are interested in and working on that).
Anyway, ... random useful tip/technique to keep in mind about
when/where/how to make information available (and me, narrowly
escaping being obliged to do another BALUG technical talk/presentation
(may do that again sooner or later anyway)).
