*Technical Support Engineer*
Immediate opening for experienced LAN/WAN support professional. Join an
established technology leader that operates like a classic Silicon
Valley start-up in a challenging and highly rewarding environment.
You must be a self-starter with ability to analyze LAN/WAN problems in
phone and field support. You will troubleshoot network problems, and
methodically test products. You will work closely with skilled hardware
and software engineers in defining and testing products, and assisting
customers. Candidate will need good verbal and written communication
skills.
Job duties include:
50% - Customer phone support of new systems; includes duplicating
problems in-house and RMA handling
30% - QA testing of new hardware/software; working with hardware and
software engineers and collaborating on new features
20% - Pre-sales support, Post-sales support
Required Experience:
Technical phone support
Layer 2 / Layer 3 network protocols
Ability to outline and follow test plans
MS Windows networking knowledge required
Plusses:
Inside and/or outside copper wire plant topologies
System Test / QA experience
Field Support experience
Technical documentation
Unix, HTML
Packet analysis
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Time: Immediate
Position type: Contract 3 month then Full time
