Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone who attended my talk on Amanda this week.  There were some
good questions and thanks for the free dinner :-)

As I had mentioned,  Zmanda(www.zmanda.com), the company work for,

User interface engineers

Responsibilities:

* Design and Develop user interface web application.
* Create user interface prototypes for getting user feedback.
* Interface with the Server engineering team and user interface designers.
* Create user interface help and documentation.

Qualifications:

* At least 5 years of experience in developing user interface client
and/or backend for Linux and Windows platform.
* Must have developed software using PHP, Javascript, Ajax, HTML and CSS.
* Should have experience in designing database table schemas and
storing data in MySQL.
* Experience with Symfony or any other PHP framework is desired.
* The engineer should have worked in all phases of software
development life cycle, including requirements, specifications,
development, testing and support.
* Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming model is required.
* Knowledge of storage management user interfaces is desirable.

Storage Software engineers

Responsibilities
* Ongoing design and development of features for Zmanda products and
future products.
* Interfacing with open source community engineers
* Work with customers and technical partners in addressing their problems.

Requirements:
* 2-5 years of storage software development experience in the areas of
filesystems/databases/backup/archive/disaster recovery.
* Experience with multithreaded programming, Disk and tape storage
systems,  open source software tools are essential.
* Knowledge of C/C++ and perl scripting language is essential
* Knowledge of open source storage projects is desirable.
* Experience with Virtual Machines, Database schema design, XML are desired.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Technical Support Engineers

Responsibilities

* Providing first and second level support to Zmanda customers.
* Answer customer questions over phone, email, IM and forums.
* Document solutions in the Knowledgebase.
* Integrate and test various solutions to meet customer requirements.
* Work closely with engineering on product quality.

Qualifications
* Minimum 2+ years experience required in a customer support role.
* Linux Experience required.
* Strong System Administration skills desired.
* Strong technical problem solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of Open Source software desired.
* Team player.
* Ability to balance customer requirements and company goals.
* Experience with data protection products and practices strongly desired.
* Be on call for customer problems after hours and weekend.
* Ability to work in fast paced and dynamic work environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Equivalent.
