Position: Senior Linux Systems Administrator (2 openings)

You will be part of a talented and dedicated team of System
Administrators working to maintain the MobiTV systems of today and build
the systems of tomorrow. Key responsibilities include the identification
and resolution of hardware, software or database problems/outages in any
of the MobiTV services. These responsibilities require 24x7 coverage and
response to systems alerts during after-hour periods. MobiTV offers

As a Senior level System Administrator at  MobiTV, you will have
responsibility for the following activities:

 

Troubleshooting custom mobile applications, root cause analysis, and
partner with engineering to build and deploy new and existing
applications. 

You will be focusing on such complex issues as interoperability among
different components.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following attributes:



Technically Astute:   Be up to date on Change Control, Configuration
Management, Policy Development & Enforcement, Application Design Review,
Application Troubleshooting, Documentation, Project Management and some
Scripting.   You have contributed to the build out and architecture of
data systems.

Communication skills:  Ability to communicate clearly, with tenacity and
passion will take you far at MobiTV.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

*	8+ years of Systems Administration experience in a Unix
environment 
*	Strong experience in troubleshooting, designing and building
production systems using some form of Unix - Linux is strongly preferred
but strong BSD or Solaris experience will also be considered. 
*	Experience with Apache.

Desired:

*	Understanding of Linux management tools is a strong plus. 
*	Should understand Perl. PHP is a plus. 
*	Experience with Tomcat and JAVA platforms is a plus. 
*	Experience using RCS systems such as CVS/SVN or Perforce is a
plus. 
*	Experience working in an ASP model, managing applications across
a large number of machines operating 24x7x365 is preferred. 
*	Ability to coordinate many projects simultaneously and adjust to
frequently changing priorities is a strong plus.
