Andrew, As you well know, flattery will get you everywhere.
But, I'm not going to fall for your sincere flattery anymore. [ ;) ]
(BTW: small nitpick here: Weren't you supposed to put a ";)" after that
sentence?)

That said, I don't wish to drive change. I wish to telecommute change.

Er, that reminds me: The last time I decided "oh, what the heck, I'll
take him seriously about that", none of the "change-drivers" replied.

"Since BALUG's list admin has spoke, if anyone wants to further discuss
the
carpool issue, lets please do it on the balug-admin list"

[BALUG-Admin] [BALUG-Talk] Request BALUG members SET POLICY- ALL
GNU(Linux) carpool msgs OK & ENCOURAGED
Nicely, though, my suggestion did get seconded by Jesse Zbikowski. I
thought my suggestion was valid, good & useful. And Jesse recognized &
validated that. But no reply from either you or Rick. So, I truly
_was_ disappointed that when I followed _your_ suggestion, you just
ignored it.
Seriously, Andrew, asking me to do something, then not bothering to
reply when I do what you asked, is one of the things that kinds "drives"
my wondering if you are being serious or merely having fun directing me
(& others - Jesse - you didn't reply to him either) down pointless
paths.
Point: I mean - this BALUG list has almost zero traffic - I don't see
the need to move discussion to a _different_ list. It's not like this
list is so busy that it can't handle the additional discussion of some
relevant topic here. Discussing this here, where the readership is
much larger than on BALUG-Admin, it seems to me, is the proper place to
discuss things to get the largest community awareness/readership/input.
Your suggesting pushing discussion off to a list with a likely much
smaller readership, when there's no pressing need to move the discussion
there, is puzzling to me. I seriously don't see any necessity, or even
any good reason, to move the discussion to a lesserly read list.
It seriously makes me wonder if _you_ are making the suggestion for some
"good of the community" reason, or are just trying to mute topics you
don't wish to discuss by pushing the discussion elsewhere, & then
ignoring it. :(
So, thanks for reminding me of one of the other things that, even
though, seriously, I _do_ see much to value in what you contribute,
makes me wonder.

BTW - Seriously - anyone know the "smiley" for the emotion "sad &
puzzled"? I thought there was one, something with a "~" (tilde) for a
mouth. Several times I tried searching for annotated/defined smileys -
couldn't find much beyond the simple basics before having to get on to
more pressing matters.

Maybe something with a frown (eyebrows), but not the angry ">" sideways

Anyway, Andrew, I don't see either a justifying benefit nor need for
moving this to a different, lesserly read list, even if my question
_could be considered_ administrative in nature. Can't/won't/will you
please merely answer my simple question here?:
"Would it would be OK with you for me to both:
1) listen to the talk remotely?, &
2) to ask a question (time permitting, as for all audience questions) to
the speaker from remotely?
Thanks for your kind consideration. :)
All the best, to you, Andrew, & the community. :) "
