My vote is for pushing back 1 week as well.  This is much easier to organize.  However, I do want to mention that on the speaker coorninater list, Jim S. and Michael P. brought up the issue of keeping the 3rd Tuesday as the meeting date for fear of folks turning up on that date w/o checking the mailing list or website.  This is a totally valid point, but I don't believe it applies to BALUG.  We just don't have a regular membership who will turn up regardless of the speaker... maybe this applies to 3-5 people but their all on the mailing lists anyway.  

One could argue that we'll never have a regular membership if we keep swapping the date around.  While I acknowledge that shifting the date so close on the heels of already having done that for Mark Shuttleworth is sub-optimal, throwing together a sub-optimal speaker at the last minute is worse.  I'm confident that we'll draw 40+ for Andrew Morton if we shift the date back now and let folks know ASAP.  If we have a knowledgeable but (relatively) anonymous speaker we'll probably dip back below 20 attendees.  My personal goal is to build BALUG's regular membership and from that perspective its better to have 1 or 2 people show up on the original date and be confused with 40+ people having another really good BALUG experience the following week.  Anyone who shows up on the original date will likely check the website, realize _THEIR_ mistake and likely decide to come the following week... 1002 reasons to subscribe to the announce list _AND_ read it.
   
Bottom line: most folks know that famous people have lots of demands on their calendars and will likely be tolerant of the shift.
