As, similarly, I sometimes end up saying to manager(s) or
recommending someone say to their manager, something like:
manager: <"demanding" root or other privileged password>
admin: "Well, manager, just sign off here that you've been given
that access, and that you are now also jointly responsible, and
to be a considered among the suspects, at any and all times something
inappropriate, unlawful, etc., is ever done with that ID."

So yes, ... best not to have more access than one more-or-less
reasonably needs. :-)
