What about when we use Quote button to include the earlier? That brings it in as it's displayed on web - with - or without - munging, and doesn't changes it (just prefixes lines with "> ")
And of the earlier, these got munged from @ to (a) at least on web display: postmaster(a)[127.0.0.1] postmaster(a)example.com
And these didn't: postmaster@localhost postmaster@localhost @localhost @example.com
