Quoting Christian Einfeldt (einfeldt@gmail.com):
I am volunteering to help a low-income shelter in San Francisco. I have donated Lubuntu computers, but the volume control is not appearing on one of the machines. I followed the instructions on line by doing this:
- Right click on the panel
- choose Add/Remove Panel Items
- The Panel Window appears:
You will note that Volume Control already is listed on the list of "Currently loaded plugins", but the volume control does not appear on the panel. Here is a shot of my panel:
FYI, if you intended to include a screenshot, none appeared. In any event, it is regarded as bad netiquette to blast out attachments to large numbers of people on public mailing lists. It's deemed more polite to put (e.g.) your image on any of countless free image-hosting mailing list and post the URL instead of file-attaching it out to an entire mailing list's membership. (That way, only people wanting your attachment will be spending downloading time fetching a copy.)
Best guess: You need to do a bit of work with pavucontrol so that LXDE thinks there's a valid sound profile of type 'Analog Stereo Output'. See this page:
