The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD) will be holding the following meeting:
Monday May 15, 2017 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Presentation:
"DockerCon17 Recap and Highlights"
Presented by:
Stephen Matthew Helms
Description:
Docker is an open-source project that automates the deployment of applications inside software containers -- a server virtualization method in which the kernel of an operating system allows the existence of multiple isolated user-space instances, instead of just one.
DockerCon, held recently in Austin, Texas, is a "community and container industry conference for makers and operators of next generation distributed apps built with containers ... with talks by practitioners, hands-on labs, an expo hall of Docker ecosystem innovators."
This presentation will highlight some of the Linux- and open-source-related topics found at DockerCon 2017. Stephen will also briefly discuss the Docker Community, Mentoring and Higher Ed and Embassador program, and if time permits, audience participation in some demos.
This meeting will be held at:
Yolo County Public Library, Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Blanchard Community Meeting Room 315 E 14th Street Davis, CA 95616
