Description:
Hacker Lab is an organization that fosters technology by offering community-driven mentoring and education. With locations in Sacramento and Rocklin, they provide a 'Maker Space' with tools and prototyping equipment, education and training classes and bootcamps, 24/7 co-working space with both shared and private offices, and community mentorship for startups, designers, and students.
Nile will present an overview of Hacker Lab, show examples of some cool projects created at the Lab, and discuss Linux and open source as it relates to the Maker Movement.
About the Speaker:
Nile Mittow is Lead Innovation Engineer at Hacker Lab. He has taught various classes, ranging from Internet of Things (IoT), to woodshop, to lasercutting. He has a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from UC Davis.
